Today in Alpe d’Huez after recent snowfall and elevated avalanche danger.
We didn’t just follow tracks — terrain choice, aspect, elevation and constant snowpack assessment made the difference. Every slope was evaluated and ridden one at a time with safe spots and group management.
All riders carried avalanche safety equipment: transceiver, shovel and probe, and knew how to use it.
Off-piste skiing is incredible, but it isn’t luck — it’s decisions and experience. Never rely on other people’s tracks or social media videos.
Ski with qualified professionals and proper gear if you want to do this safely.
