Aurora Avalanche | FRIGHTMARES – Animated Scary Stories
The northern lights only blaze this bright once in years, and Anya’s grandmother made her promise, right before the end, to watch them from the old ridge on the mountain the village calls the Watcher. So on the coldest, clearest night of the winter, Anya and her best friend Jay sneak past the elder’s warning and start the long climb — even though the slope above the tree-line is loaded with snow and ready to slide, and one loud sound could bring the whole mountain down.
They aren’t alone up there. Something huge and white is pacing them through the pines — something that leaves two-legged footprints far too big to be any animal, something that rises out of the dark and roars. Cornered at the edge of an open snowfield with the creature closing in, Anya remembers the warning and turns it into a weapon… but surviving the night is only the beginning. Because the thing on the mountain isn’t hunting them at all — and what waits on the ridge under the aurora will change how they see the Watcher, and the wild, forever.
