Trooper’s Report:
On 07/06/2024 at approximately 2200 hours, I Trooper Calvert, was sitting at the North Little Rock Police Department (NLRPD)
Justice Center when NLRPD advised they were in pursuit of a vehicle near E. Broadway. The vehicle was described as a red
Chevrolet Pickup. NLRPD advised they were heading west on Broadway at speeds of approximately 40mph. I intercepted the
vehicle at E. Broadway and Poplar and became primary in the pursuit.
I followed the vehicle on E. Broadway west through the intersection with Main and Maple Street. Speeds were approximately 40mph.
I attempted two Tactical Vehicle Interventions (TVIs) between the intersection of E. Broadway and Willow and E. Broadway and
Broadway along the left side of the vehicle. I was too shallow when executing the TVIs and the suspect was able to drive out of both
of these attempts.
The suspect continued to flee south over the Broadway Bridge and Sergeant (Sgt.) Gabe Monroe became primary in the pursuit. Sgt.
Monroe moved into position along the right side of the vehicle and performed a TVI. The vehicle rotated clockwise 90 degrees and
struck the concrete barrier on the right shoulder. The vehicle continued rotating clockwise 360 degrees and continued driving
southbound at slow speeds. The suspect vehicle again struck the concrete barrier and came to rest.
I assisted NLRPD in extracting the suspect, later identified as WENDELL JACKSON, and placed him into custody.
NLRPD took custody of JACKSON and placed him into one of their marked police units. Reference NLRPD Incident #202453363.
