A massive avalanche hit the Sumeru mountain behind Kedarnath temple in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. The huge avalanche was caught on camera and caused panic among pilgrims visiting the Himalayan shrine. The district disaster management officer of Rudraprayag NK Rajwar said that the avalanche struck the Sumeru mountain at around 7:30am about 3-4 km away from the temple, near the source of Saraswati river.
