I just picked up the this 1988 Honda Fourtrax TRX125 Quad. The owner couldn’t get it running, he was having problems with no spark. The way it sat, it won’t fire. I had to troubleshoot the entire ignition system on the TRX 125 to get it running. The handlebar controls look like they were sitting out in the rain for decades so I hot wired the CDI to see if it would get spark. No luck there, so I tested the pulse generator and stator to see if they were bad. Nope! I then tested the coil and the CDI, what one was the culprit? I took a coil off of a TRX200SX fourtrax quad but had that didn’t work. I then made a wiring harness to plug a chineese ebay pitbike cdi to the quad and it fired!!!! Then, VERY BAD THINGS HAPPENED!
