Child actors either get unlimited screentime, or none at all. Gaten Matarazzo grew up in a household where everything from Call of Duty to Cartoon Network was forbidden, so he snuck video games where he could.
That all started to change when he landed the role of Dustin Henderson on Netflix’s megahit, Stranger Things. Gaten broadend his horizons with The Legend of Zelda, Spider-Man, and Uncharted. He reveals his underrated first Zelda game, as well as what he considers “the best video game experience that I’ve ever had.”
Now that Stranger Things wrapped, Gaten has been teeing up the next big thing. Pizza Movie (from directors Nick Kocher and Brian McElhaney, also known the YouTube sketch comedy duo BriTANick), is his first film to be released since the finale of Stranger Things aired in December 2025. It’s streaming now on Hulu and Disney Plus.
